Job Description
The position of Food Service is a customer service position as there is customer contact while taking orders or answering questions. Employees are expected to provide friendly and positive communication with all customer and other employees. This position also expects safe, healthy and proper food handling up to store policy and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The most obvious duty is food preparation. The position must be able to prepare food according to Enerbase procedure guidelines while maintain a high-quality finished product.
- Kitchen duties also include cleaning and maintaining a safe and organized clean area. This will include but not limited to, washing, mopping, sweeping, hauling garbage, possibly shoveling snow, and scrubbing. Managing food inventory is expected by storing, organizing and retrieving food as necessary.
- Some Food Service workers will be required to have knowledge of running a cash register. Proper math and reading skills are required for this. Food Service workers must be able to maintain equipment according to food safety standards.
- Employees are encouraged to become Safe Serve certified and will be paid for the training. Food Service workers are expected to follow all regulatory procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested by Food Service Manager or Store Managerer as needed for the success of the department.

The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. Performs repetitive motion of fingers, hands, wrists, arms, shoulders and upper body while working with computers and paper. Sometimes the incumbent is required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders, squat and climb stairs. The employee must regular lift up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is typically indoors, however rarely the employee would be exposed to seasonal weather while loading/unloading or shoveling snow. A level of expected kitchen machine office noise is expected with this position.
The position is regulated by the state government and the employee should expect to adjust and conform to any new regulations that affect this position or the company.
