JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dynamic Sales Director to direct the sales and marketing efforts of our brand new Springhill Suites of Fargo to maximize revenue. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, account management, and technology sales. The capability of Outside Sales, Cold Calls, Group Bookings, Community Involvement, and Contract Negotiations are necessary for this role.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: (% of time)

Account Management and New Business Development: (60 %)

  • Responsible for overseeing the retention and acquisition of accounts by growing existing accounts and generating new business to a level that meets or exceeds sales forecasts.
  • Executes all aspects of the sales and marketing plans to surpass revenue goals. This will include making outside sales calls and cold calls while maintaining relationships with current accounts, soliciting new business through innovative means.

Management/Supervisory Responsibilities: (20%)

  • Responsible for coaching and evaluating the sales and marketing teams' sales and techniques to help achieve revenue targets. 
  • Oversees the activities of staff members to ensure adherence to hotel policies and procedures, tasked with resolving employee relation issues.
  • The candidate will directly handle Group Bookings and RFP’s, Booking relationships with Third Parties.

Guest Service (on going)

  • Must appropriately address guest requests to ensure customer satisfaction with hotel services and accommodations.
  • Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services.
  • Offer guest assistance whenever possible, ensuring satisfaction with hotel accommodation.

Financial and Marketing Business Analysis: (10%)

  • Works with the General Manager to analyze sales and marketing reports. Including revenue forecasting and business development.
  • Oversees advertising and marketing campaigns for the hotels.
  • Develops business plans as needed.
  • Responsible for revenue forecasting.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS, EDUCATION BACKGROUNG AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience required.
  • 5+ years of hotel sales experience required.
  • Experience in outside sales and cold calls is necessary in this role.
  • Prior experience using Windows-based software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong selling and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • History of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and customer needs.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • May be required to travel, personal vehicle may be required, able to work flexible schedule.
  • Other duties as required.
