Job Overview

We are currently seeking a Fleet Service Manager to join our Grand Forks Fleet Maintenance Team. The purpose of this position is to oversee the maintenance of our entire fleet. This position will ensure all fleet assets are maintained in optimal working conditions through inspections, diagnostics and repairs. This position is responsible for department efficiency and productivity. Must be able to train, coach and motivate employees.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train and guide mechanics
  • Ensure all repairs are performed in a timely manner
  • Manages department performance to include efficiency and productivity
  • Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Ensures a professional and safe working environment
  • Manages and performs DOT inspections
  • Maintains accurate records for inspections and maintenance logs
  • Ensures maintenance management software is being utilized and all work orders are being filled out correctly
  • Manages parts and inventory
  • Managers relationships with external service providers to ensure timely and cost effective repairs
  • Manages vendor relationships with parts suppliers
  • Manage expenses (labor, parts, outside service)
  • Work closely with dispatch to minimize downtime
  • Communicate with drivers to resolve maintenance issues that arise
  • Ensures compliance with safety standards

Qualifications: High school education and/or technical school. Five years of related mechanic and management experience. Associates degree or higher preferred. Valid drivers license required. Ability to get CDL and HazMat required. Ability to get MN and Federal DOT Inspector required.
