Job Summary: The South Dakota Department of Health, Division of Family & Community Health's Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion is seeking an energetic and passionate individual to join the team as the Immunization Program Director.
The Immunization Program Director will oversee immunization programming for the Department of Health, including the Vaccines for Children program and the South Dakota Immunization Information System (SDIIS). Duties include, but are not limited to, program development, strategic planning, grant writing, managing a federal grant, contract management, budget preparation, fiscal management, and providing subject matter expertise around vaccine administration and storage. The Immunization Program Director will also closely collaborate with internal and external partners, including healthcare facilities and clinicians, non-profit organizations, and public health programs. Therefore, this individual must have strong communication, professionalism, and teamwork skills. This position will also supervise 3 full-time immunization staff within the Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a health-related field such as health promotion, public health, or nursing.
Knowledge of:
