We are looking for an IT Support Specialist to join our team.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Four-year degree from an accredited university or equivalent preferred.
2. 1-2 years computer repair.
3. Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record.
4. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.
5. Valid driver’s license.
Role Overview:
1. Investigate and resolve computer and hardware problems of users.
2. Receive calls from users having problems using computer software and hardware or inquiring how to use specific operating systems.
3. Talk to users to learn procedures followed and source of error.
4. Answer questions, applying knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures.
5. Assist with maintenance and support the company’s technology infrastructure including computers, servers, phones, tablets, printers, etc.
6. Support user accounts including modification, addition or deletion.
7. Provide system security including file security, and software/hardware.
8. Ensure printing environment is performing to user expectations.
9. Ensure timelines of hardware upgrades, maintenance, repairs and coordination of outside vendor repair.
10. Ensure timeliness of software installation, upgrades, maintenance and licensing.
11. Maintain IT inventory and order stock as needed and approved.
12. Monitor system requirements and conduct preventative maintenance.
13. Monitor equipment performance, document procedures and problems, coordinate with outside repair vendor or repair equipment and follow -up on hardware maintenance as needed.
14. Keep up software and hardware registration and inventory to provide upgrades as necessary and ensure appropriate security levels are maintained.
15. Assist in the process for WAN requirements and maintenance.
16. Ensure policies & procedures are maintained and followed.
17. Coordinate operations with Knife River IT department.
18. Assist North Central Regional companies with data & software support.
19. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations.
20. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
21. Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
22. Ensure company safety, OSHA safety and environmental regulation compliance.
23. Performs other duties as assigned.
