ND State Parks – multiple locations (listed below) - Outdoor Educator or Naturalist 

Full-time/Part-time (15-40 hours/week) 

Salary $15 - $17 per hour

 

Do you have a passion for the outdoors and a desire to help others appreciate North Dakota’s natural beauty, vibrant culture, and rich history? Join the North Dakota Parks & Recreation team as an Outdoor Educator/Naturalist! In this role, you will create, market, and deliver interactive, hands-on educational and recreational programs that engage visitors of all ages. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Develop and present interactive programs and tours utilizing visitor centers, outdoor amphitheaters, recreational trails, and educational materials. 

Research and prepare informative content and hands-on activities focusing on natural sciences, cultural resources, history, and recreational opportunities. 

Engage with diverse audiences, including general visitors and special interest groups (schools, scouts, youth), to promote appreciation for the environment and history. 

Utilize a variety of programming materials to enhance learning experiences and foster a connection to nature. 

Adapt programs to suit varying age groups and backgrounds, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility. 

Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as state parks are open 24/7. 

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required. 

Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey instructions and information to people of all ages and backgrounds. 

Ability to conduct nature and recreational programs in a variety of terrain, weather, and lighting conditions
