Job Description

1st shift- 6am- 3:30pm Monday thru Thursday, 6am- 10am Friday

Pay: $17- $20/ hour based on experience.

POSITION SUMMARY: Operates the Press Brake to create components that meet all customer specifications.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (includes essential job functions):

  • Operates, sets, and adjusts press brakes to process orders to meet customer specifications and delivery date requirements.
  • Selects, positions, and aligns dies in machine ram and bed.
  • Turns set screws or bolts to fasten clamp bar that holds dies in position or activate hydraulic clamping.
  • Positions work piece manually to align parts to the dies and back gauge.
  • Starts machine to lower ram or depresses pedal to activate.
  • Verifies dimensions of work piece, using templates or standard measuring equipment and completes inspection documents.
  • May grind laps or burs from edges of work piece using portable grinder.
  • Safely and proficiently assist in the movement of material within the brake department to allow for maximum production efficiencies.
  • Perform preventative and general maintenance on press brakes and supporting equipment as needed.
  • Resolve departmental problems to minimize effect on production.
  • Maintain safe and orderly work area.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Follow or maintain maintenance per schedule. Report to supervisor.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

  • Must be proficient in the use of measuring tools
  • Metal fabrication and brake experience preferred
  • General computer knowledge
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced, detail oriented production and manufacturing environment
  • Must be proficient in blue print reading
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must have good organizational skills
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Good interplant customer service skills
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Must have strong math and metric conversion skills

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to stand in an upright position for continuous periods of time.
  • May be required to climb ladders or work in overhead areas.
  • Employee is required to walk throughout the facility during the course of the workday.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to pull and/or push up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • May be required to bend forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine.
