Job Overview:
We seek an experienced Project Estimator to assist in bidding for commercial, hospitality, and multi-family housing projects. This role will also involve light drafting. You will work closely with the sales team, project managers, and clients to ensure accurate, competitive bids and seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in bidding for commercial, hospitality, and multi-family cabinet jobs.
- Collaborate with the sales team and project managers to estimate projects accurately and efficiently.
- Perform take-offs to calculate materials, scope, and costs based on unique project requirements.
- Review architectural plans and participate in pre-bid meetings, ensuring a clear understanding of project needs.
- Perform light drafting as required for project documentation.
- Own and manage the bidding process within the company’s ERP software (Innergy), ensuring all bids are accurately entered, updated, and tracked.
- Take complete ownership of bids from start to finish, reporting any timeline shifts or cost adjustments to relevant stakeholders in real-time.
- Maintain and update product and material data in the ERP system, ensuring any changes in materials, pricing, or specifications are reflected accurately and promptly.
- Assist in project management, overseeing timelines and vendor relationships, and ensuring project delivery within budget.
- Ensure all bid documents, pricing, and estimates are completed promptly and accurately.
- Analyze subcontractor bids to ensure the best value and quality for each project.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure up-to-date pricing for materials and services, adjusting estimates as necessary.
- Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and vendors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in commercial, hospitality, or multi-family housing estimating.
- Proficient in estimating software and capable of reading blueprints and architectural plans.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with Innergy, Bluebeam, or similar software.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for managing vendor and subcontractor relationships.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Receives feedback well, is coachable and has a love for personal and professional development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other team members, including sales, project managers, and clients.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong understanding of cabinetry manufacturing, finishing, and installation processes.
- Experience in procurement and sourcing materials.
- Experience with CAD-type software for light drafting.
- Knowledge of construction management and contracts.
